Thursday, Feb 26-Luke 12:22-34

Most days I drink kool-aid or water. Mostly cause its cheap. Some days I really want something else, but then I remember...I drink Kool-aid and water cause its cheap. haha.

22Then Jesus said to his disciples: "Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat; or about your body, what you will wear.
-Hmm, life would be so much simpler if we didn't worry about these things so much. It takes a lot of faith to trust God for these all the time.

23Life is more than food, and the body more than clothes.
-Food/clothes seem like such essential needs. What could be more, but we must remember that even life on earth is temporary compared to eternity of the future. Life is more than life on earth, it has a vast eternity linked to it.

24Consider the ravens: They do not sow or reap, they have no storeroom or barn; yet God feeds them. And how much more valuable you are than birds!
-Amazing how much of nature seems to work out without all the worry/planning/storing. The birds still have to work and do stuff, but God takes care of them.

25Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?
-This is the logical end of worrying. Nothing happens by consuming worry. When our time is up, then our time is up.

26Since you cannot do this very little thing, why do you worry about the rest?
-Worry isn't the answer to problems. Faith in God is the right answer.

27"Consider how the lilies grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these.
-Amazing how God makes nature beautiful and how much we struggle for it. People spend so much time/money/resources toward beauty.

28If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today, and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, how much more will he clothe you, O you of little faith!
-Our eyes need to be open to realities. This is one of them that we forget to often. God takes care of us. We can believe in him.

29And do not set your heart on what you will eat or drink; do not worry about it.
-Set your heart: make this a dying concern.
-It's amazing how much faith God is asking us to have in him. It'd be like trusting God to provide mannah from heaven. He was so faithful to delivering this.

30For the pagan world runs after all such things, and your Father knows that you need them.
-Valid testimony of the world. Unfortunately to often it is like us also.

31But seek his kingdom, and these things will be given to you as well.
-In faith do this. Have faith, have faith, have faith.

32"Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has been pleased to give you the kingdom.
-Trust God.

33Sell your possessions and give to the poor. Provide purses for yourselves that will not wear out, a treasure in heaven that will not be exhausted, where no thief comes near and no moth destroys.
-This is real treasure. Put down the things of this world.

34For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
-An indicator. Look at your treasure carefully. Then make some careful decisions based on it.

This passage screams out have faith. It's not easy, but it is. Time to let go.
