3For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the measure of faith God has given you.
-Now Paul has just finished talking about how to worship spiritually and how to please God. Continuing with this idea the next thought is not to think to highly of yourself. This is an important thing in worship. When we think of ourselves to highly we can diminish the value or ignore the value of what God is doing in our lives. There can also be error in thinking of ourselves to lowly as well. But with sober judgment we can then give God the best and most truthful worship. Some may also fall into the trap of thinking they are nothing, but the Bible says sober judgment, not ridiculous judgment that makes us nothing.
-When we think of ourselves, we should consider how much faith we have. Our faith apportioned to us is how we use our spiritual gifts as well. Maybe this is why Paul measures himself using this. Look at your spiritual gifts and judge soberly how your doing. Whatever it is your doing, keep doing it.
