1 Corinthians 11:23-34
in this passage paul explains the significance of the Lords supper. He reminded them of the origin of the activity. In saying this he also said that if it is done with the wrong heart it is sinning against God. Self examination is an important part of this. It's kind of scary when he talks like this. I think many people probably take the Lord's suffer without strict self examination. drinking judgment doesn't sound like a good idea. Paul expresses judgment in some pretty physically harsh ways. I wonder if this is the cause of peoples illnesses today as well. As paul sums up here he reminds them of the unity of the activity here. It's as simple as thinking about others. He doesn't ask people to starve...just to think ahead. The judgment that people drink upon themselves here can be easily avoided. people just have to stop and think for once instead of living life so recklessly.
