] Seems like it must take a lot of honest living to be able to say what David says in verse 1. To say that your life is blameless and that you trust without wavering is a big thing. I don’t think he’s saying it to be prideful, but because he’s just being honest. He’s asking the Lord at the same time to vindicate, or prove that this is true.
] Test me, its like asking for God to do what was done to Job. It would be nice if I had the courage to be this transparent before God. Even if I examined my own heart and mind there would be tons to correct and change.
] This is the secret to how David can live like this. He lives with the realization of God’s love before himself. As a married man would do. He would consider his wife’s love at all points of temptation. Second key, is to walk in truth. He doesn’t lie to himself or rationalize sin, but lives truth.
] More keys. he doesn’t let bad men influence him. He doesn’t make a place where they can influence him and change his mind.
] In fact he hates these wicked people. That is how far he is from allowing them to influence him.
] This is his lifestyle. To live near forgiveness (the alter) and praise God for it.
] He loves being in the presence of God
] He asks God not to group him with wicked men.
] David is different then them, therefore he asks God for mercy and redemption.
] Because of this type of lifestyle he is secure in life. He doesn’t waver back and forth but has a foundation in God. And he will praise God before all men knowing he’s on this foundation and none can make him fall from it.
