11And do this, understanding the present time. The hour has come for you to wake up from your slumber, because our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed.
-We don't do these things in futility, but realizing that the time of judgment is near. Now is a time of action.
-Think about the present time. Understand whats happening now. Act accordingly.
12The night is nearly over; the day is almost here. So let us put aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light.
-Its not really much longer till salvation is here. Either by death or Jesus return the time is not much. We get so comfortable in wickedness, but we need to prepare for whats coming next and not live so blind.
13Let us behave decently, as in the daytime, not in orgies and drunkenness, not in sexual immorality and debauchery, not in dissension and jealousy.
-These are all ways that we could behave and would be easy to do. The world does these things in excess. We are different. We live for a purpose and a reason. Our goal isn't mere self pleasure in this life.
14Rather, clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not think about how to gratify the desires of the sinful nature.
-This is what we should do. The world spends plenty of time pondering how to gratify itself.
