Tuesday, August 25- 1 John 1:1-4

1That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked at and our hands have touched—this we proclaim concerning the Word of life.
-Seems like it gets from far away to close. Till it's super personal and they can actually touch it. This is what they know now. It's personal experience to them. Intimate personal experience which they share with the world. And this that they share is super important cause it is the word of life.

2The life appeared; we have seen it and testify to it, and we proclaim to you the eternal life, which was with the Father and has appeared to us.
-John speaks very clearly of what he's talking about. He has seen the life and is testifying of what he has seen. It's an amazing thing to testify about. the greatest event in history.

3We proclaim to you what we have seen and heard, so that you also may have fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ.
-The reason he's writing is so that we can be part of them. More importantly be part of God and Jesus.

4We write this to make our joy complete.
-Sharing this is joyful to them. We make it laborious or hard. We make it a chore, but what it really is is joy. Joy as people understand and become part of the body of believers. To find something that is lost is a great joy. John was so excited to speak of it. We should be too.
