Chapter 8
-Christianity is all about putting on Christ. Christ wants all of us, not just parts. I've been thinking a bit lately about why Cstone exists and why we do stuff. Like Lewis says it's very much so that we can draw people to Christ and make them little Christs. I don't think this is very easy at all.
Chapter 9
-Lewis gives a cute little story of a dentist fixing teeth. I suppose we run into this a lot in life when we want one thing fixed we run into needing to fix many other things. It's not so easy to do, but we just have to trust the inventor of us and let him fix us. We're terribly whiny and complaining people when it comes to stuff like this.
Chapter 10
-This chapter boils down to: shouldn't Christians be better if it's working? I can see how this can be a problem since there is so much complaining about hypocrisy in the church. In some ways its annoying for people to judge Christianity based on people. There are so many people that pretend and fail at being Christians. This makes it difficult. No religion looks so great when we look at their failing followers. Oh well. Suppose we just need to do our best as individuals to make Christianity work in people's heads. Christianity isn't a religion of perfection anyways. Its more about how God makes perfection from our mess.
Chapter 11
-Dunno...the book just kind of ends. Doesn't really wrap up or anything else...just ends. Last chapter: Give up yourself to find yourself. Sometimes Lewis says to much to say something. Sometimes it helps...sometimes it just makes things hairy. Oh well. I liked the beginning of the book much better than the end.
