Exodus 7
In this passage God gives Moses great power to do miraculous things and Aaron will be his prophet. God has them go and talk to Pharaoh. They talk to Pharaoh and do the miraculous signs to convince him to let the Israelites leave Egypt. The miracles that he performs are matched by the magicians of Pharaohs courts. God's miracles prove themselves to be greater than the magicians though. In the end Pharaohs heart is hardened and he refuses to let the people go. The things to learn from this are that God is the one doing the great miracles. Moses and Aaron are just obeying. This is the same for us. In the end it's all about God doing it all...we just have to obey. Also Moses and Aaron could've been really discouraged that Pharaohs heart was hard, but they knew in advance that this is the way God planned it. We often get discouraged because of negative events even though we think we're doing God's plan. Well even negative results can be God's plan. We just have to be faithful with whatever God wants us to do and leave the rest to God.
